"Calm and joy"

A presence felt, a known heartbeat
Sensing fullness, time complete
Anticipation, endless sigh
Eternity, it paints the sky
A thrill unmeasured pumps the blood
Surprise dreamtouch releases flood
The ripples form 'cross pools of rain
The sun bursts out from clouds of pain
Her heartbeats touch the soul, again
Fortune's child begins its reign
Penitence, that broken state
Borne by patience, consummate
The bourn is bright within purview
The mist has settled into dew
A pause has come, a final beat
Preceding symphony, complete

"Colors"

A strength resides upon love's grace within eternal halls
No force of time or man can ever breach these sturdy walls
Upon the rampart's walk, impatience stirs, the passion calls
Across the land, the spell in winter's blight of guilt enthralls
But, slowly, now, enchanted land gives way to life and Spring
The crocus blooms, the squirrels romp, and birds begin to sing
The memories retain their force, the glistening returns
The sun upon the dew-filled land evaporates concerns
Despair and all its pitied ilk no longer hold them fast
Discoveries of life and love, the endless vistas vast
The land is well renewed as all the panic now subsides
Upon the mount of memories, the heart so boldly rides
From keep and through the gate, they canter through the broader world
To flowers thrown, and lances raised, the pennant is unfurled
Time has reinforced the colors of this endless love
The gifts are clear, the end is seen, the heart does rise above

"The hounds of life"

Upon a dismal day
I trudge along
The hounds begin to bay
A haunting song
The pad of life's clawed feet
Race at my back
The fangs that snap for meat
That they do lack
I turn and face the face
Of life's false hope
With passion and a trace
Of life's true scope
A heartbeat's heard alone
Within my ear
That heart of purest tone
Removes all fear
It wills away the mist
So I can see
The hounds are but the gist
Of what would be
If love were but a whist
In mind, for me

"Bifrons"

One face has faced infinity and revels in the ride
All ruts encountered on the way are taken slow, in stride
Another face of withered stare is on the other side
A burning deep impatience with no thought of fear or pride
The cry of reason stifles as the aching heart does smother
The winds of fate are weathered by the iron of the other
To pass through time, a ghost, the merest wisps of life and sense
While darkly lit, a whisper's heard, the mists, at once, condense
The faces fold, appear as one, the burden set aside
The ache is gone, the heart is one, the tears have all been cried

NB - the actual definition of "Bifrons" is two-faced or two fronts.  It was not originally the name of a demon.  That is an adaptation.  The god Janus was originally named Bifrons for obvious reasons.

"Moon shadows"

The silence smothers all of mankind's sound
The moon's bright shadows sharply cast aground
Just a whisper coming from the trees
A rustle in the shadow that agrees
Enchantment rules the sliver and the moon
The whispers and the rustlings do commune
Does light or shadow tell the mythic tale
Of lunar wizardry in light so pale
The larkings in the shadows now resume
The shadows are the bride, the light the groom
Something reflects shadows into light
Suddenly from shadow comes the knight

"Caverns of the mind"

Each poem, like a key, unlocks a cavern in my mind
Vast spaces are encountered with the treasures there to find
All journey's long, the patience laid, transcendence in its deed
The echoes of the cavern's walls reflect a certain creed
Lost inside of canyons, on occasion, I have come
Searching for the reasons in a simple rule of thumb
That all sum up to answers etched so deeply in the wind
There is a life's reality in which tumults rescind
Exploring canyon's resonance has brought the echoes round
There is a way on through without the wind and fury's sound

"The weaver and the wizard"

The artisan begins his tireless toil
The consequence of all the threads uncoil
The whisper of the weaver's patience tasked
Each thread, an answer to a question asked
But, for the tapestry to answer all
The blend of threaded questions must enthrall
Suspended gaze must answer to the call
The witness of the wizard wherewithal
A tableau that can cast the curing spell
Eliminates inertias that propel
The tapestry unbinds the vile unreason
Transforming life from winter's brutal season
The weaver builds the tapestry from thread
The wizard conjures life for those undead
In colors bright, the tapestry portrays
That life can be much more than pending days
Warm and rich, this life beneath the sun
The weaver and the wizard are as one
